What is your sourcing policy?

We are proud members of Care & Fair, an international organisation that aims to eliminate illegal child labour in rug weaving areas.  Our contributions help fund much needed social infrastructure to improve the living standard of families and communities in these areas.  Learn more about this initiative.

When you purchase a Weave rug you are supporting the artisans and communities where the rugs are hand woven through our involvement with Care & Fair.

How do I clean my floor rug?

We recommend:

  • Treat spots and spills immediately with warm water and paper towel.
  • If stain persists – contact professional rug cleaner as soon as possible.
  • Do not scrub rugs as it may cause permanent pile damage.
  • Vacuum regularly with low suction power.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Regularly rotate your rug to ensure even wear.
  • Use professional rug cleaners only.
  • Shedding of fibres from new rugs is to be expected and will reduce with time.

It is best to vacuum your rug before any dirt is embedded, ideally twice a week in the first few months.

How do I care for my Weave rug?

All Weave rugs are made from natural fibres, and one of the characteristics of natural fibres is shedding and pilling.  This is completely natural, and the easiest way to remove any loose fibres is with regular vacuuming – a good quality vacuum cleaner with a flat head attachment is best.

The amount a rug sheds or pills can vary due to the amount of foot traffic, moving furniture, and even vacuuming.

We recommend vacuuming your rug twice a week in the first few months, and definitely before dirt becomes embedded.  Changes in pile and weave direction may occur and is a natural characteristic of carpets and rugs, adding to their authenticity.

Sometimes, strands of fibre will work their way to the surface of the rug – this is also a normal occurrence as the fibres settle.  Sometimes, you may need to trim a strand or tuck it into the rug.  Never pull out threads as this can lead to holes appearing.

Sun exposure for extended periods of time may cause fading, so we recommend rotating your rug to minimise colour change and damage.

We also recommend that rugs are used with an underlay, this will help to prevent the risk of dye transfer to the under surface, rug movement and protect timber flooring.

Will my product match what I see on my screen?

All photography is intended as a visual representation only. Although care is taken to ensure images are not misrepresented, colours are not exact matches due to variance in printer standards and monitor calibration.

Additionally, each piece in the Weave range is custom made, meaning no two items will be the same. Irregularities in materials, fabrics or prints are characteristic of the manufacturing process, and are an integral part of the design. As such, there may be slight markings or variations in appearance (including in colour or finishing) which are technically unavoidable and/or intentional.

Our rugs are individually handmade and woven, as such size can alter by 3% from the dimensions ordered. We also make every effort to ensure there is minimal colour variation however some can be expected (5% is the standard for carpet colour variation). Minor variations may also occur due to the characteristics of being a artisan hand woven rug, these include weave thickness and alignment and should be considered a feature.
